About Us – Kitten Resort
My name is Hartnett Kilborn, and together with my wife Jessica Mendez, our family is proud to welcome you to Kitten Resort, a small, in-home cattery specializing in modern-type Oriental Shorthair and Siamese cats.
Breeding is truly a family passion in our home. Our four children—ages 22, 18, 10, and 7—take an active role in daily care and gentle socialization, helping to raise confident, affectionate kittens that transition seamlessly into family life.
Our Home Cattery
Kitten Resort is located in Ashland, and our cattery is not a separate facility—it is our home. Our cats live with us as family members, not in cages or isolated buildings. This home-raised environment ensures our kittens are:
Exceptionally well-socialized
Comfortable with children and household activity
Confident, affectionate, and adaptable
All kittens are litter trained, accustomed to routine nail trimming, and raised with daily human interaction from birth.
Our Background & Experience
Our journey into breeding began in 2010, rooted in a lifelong love for cats and a deep respect for ethical, responsible breeding practices. Over the years, we have continued our education through felinology studies and ongoing learning to ensure we remain current with modern breeding standards, feline health, and temperament development.
We are a registered cattery with The International Cat Association (TICA), and every cat and kitten we raise is TICA registered. Our breeding cats are either imported from Europe or born here in our cattery, showcasing refined European body structure, long elegant lines, and large, wide-set ears characteristic of modern Oriental and Siamese cats.
Our Breeding Philosophy & Practices
Because the health and safety of our family and cats come first, we do not allow visitors, except for families picking up their kittens. We understand the importance of trust in today’s market, which is why we offer:

Most kittens are reserved within the first 2–3 weeks of life, and availability is limited due to our small-scale, quality-focused breeding approach.

Health, Testing & Veterinary Care
We do not sell breeding rights. All kittens leave our cattery spayed or neutered, with the cost included in the adoption fee.
Our health standards include:
PRA (Progressive Retinal Atrophy) testing
FIV/FeLV testing
Parasite prevention and screening
Premium-quality nutrition
Vaccinations administered by licensed veterinarians
Each kitten visits the veterinarian at least three times before going home.
When your kitten leaves Kitten Resort, they come with:
TICA registration papers
Microchip
Fecal test results
FIV/FeLV test results
Rabies certificate
Written health guarantee
Because we responsibly rest our females between litters, we produce a limited number of kittens each year. Occasionally, retired adult cats are available for adoption into carefully selected homes, typically without other pets or very young children.
